Minsterstone has been crafting exceptional stone fireplaces since 1885, with many of our early 20th century fireplaces still in use today. Our fireplaces combine architectural excellence with practical functionality, manufactured from durable reconstituted stone containing 80% West Country limestone. Each fireplace is designed to accommodate solid fuel burning, making them suitable for both traditional log fires and contemporary heating solutions in interior and exterior spaces.

Our skilled stonemasons employ traditional stone masonry techniques to create exquisitely sharp details—from intricate egg and dart patterns to precise gadrooning, carved motifs, arises, fillets and stop mouldings. This level of craftsmanship is only possible because of the limestone content in our reconstituted stone, which allows us to achieve the same fine detailing found in natural stone fireplaces at a more accessible price point. Each fireplace is handcrafted to order, ensuring bespoke quality and attention to detail that mass-produced alternatives simply cannot match.

Available in a range of West Country limestone finishes, our stone fireplaces suit both period property restorations and contemporary new builds. From grand statement pieces for formal reception rooms to intimate designs for cottage interiors, and robust outdoor fireplaces for garden entertaining areas, Minsterstone delivers authentic period character or clean modern lines to suit your architectural vision. Our fireplaces can be manufactured using Portland Stone—the same limestone Sir Christopher Wren used in St Paul’s Cathedral—alongside other distinguished finishes including Light Purbeck Stone and Granite Grey.

Each piece is manufactured to your specific requirements by stonemasons trained through our continuing in-house apprenticeship programmes, preserving traditional skills whilst considering environmental impact. Please note that delivery typically takes up to four weeks as we craft your fireplace to order.
