Minsterstone were appointed by regional builder, Midas Construction to Design Supply and Install the reconstructed stone wall panels and decorative mullions and parapets at Exeter’s flagship John Lewis store.

The original design outlined small precast panels in a traditional build format however following design workshopsMS developed the package to produce large precast panels which aesthetically did not alter the scheme appearance but significantly improved build ability issues, overall programme and more importantly long term maintenance.

The side flanking 6 metre high wall panels were cast in one-piece with a combined decorative cornice over, with the4 storey feature mullions providing a ‘picture frame’ to the fully glazed main entrance, with combined parapet feature over– the install was completed within 4 weeks whereas a traditional build was estimated to take 12 weeks with the added headache of all the associated scaffolding that would be necessary.
